I believe in helping and educating people in our community. My purpose is to give our clients confidence, peace of mind and make a difference in their lives. I am passionate about empowering my clients, helping them to be comfortable with investing and answering questions as they make life changing decisions.
I partner with my clients throughout their lives to achieve their goals through personalized strategies. In order for us to be successful together we must both be serious and committed and have an enjoyable connection. I strive to work with people who look forward to our meetings because we connect as individuals. Each person has very different goals and that is why this business is so rewarding.
It is a privilege to serve my clients and provide them with financial confidence whether it is demonstrating that they are saving enough for retirement, how to extend their income in retirement or how they want to pass on a financial legacy to their loved ones. I am proud to serve a wide variety of clients whole goals range from growing wealth to saving for higher education expenses to planning and living a successful retirement. I regularly work with multigenerational families to develop unique strategies for wealth transfer. Many of my clients are also small business owners with whom I create strategies for business succession, growing assets, reducing taxes and transferring wealth.
Using an established process I build personalized financial strategies for my clients that are designed to achieve their unique goals. I take the time to truly listen to my clients and construct measureable objectives uniquely tailored to their circumstances. Once the strategies are implemented I maintain regular contact with my clients to inform them of any developments and address any needs or changes in their situations. In order to provide a comprehensive service I regularly collaborate with a team of CPA’s, attorney and insurance specialists to provide the most appropriate financial strategy for you and your family.
Outside of my role with Edward Jones I enjoy spending time hiking and enjoying our beautiful state with my husband Craig, my son Jax, my daughter Sophia and our rescue lab Bella. I serve on the board of Professional Women’s Network and spend time volunteering with my children at the Humane Society and with my dog as a “visiting” therapy dog at hospitals and schools.

MICHELLE M. M. OGATA, Principal Attorney
Michelle believes that every estate plan should fit the client, and she works closely with her clients in learning about their goals, health, family dynamics, and other important factors. From there, Michelle counsels and provides recommendations for her clients using various types of trusts and other estate planning tools that will meet their goals. As a proud mother and wife, Michelle brings compassion to her work with an understanding of family values and the importance of caring for loved ones.
Michelle earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law. She served on the Board of Directors for the Arthritis Foundation Hawaii, received the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in the Honolulu Magazine and Hawaii Business Magazine, and co-authored “Top 10 Estate Planning Techniques” (National Business Institute, 2010).
SHIRLEY A. YOSHIMOTO, Planning Consultant & Paralegal
Shirley is passionate about her work in helping families preserve their relationships and values, as well as their assets, through estate planning. The sensitive issues that are addressed in estate planning are very personal, and Shirley believes that clients should be met with care and compassion.
Shirley attended Hawaii Pacific University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising, and earned her Associate of Science degree through the Paralegal Program at Kapiolani Community College. She was mentored by Michelle Ogata and has worked under her direction for over 10 years. In her spare time, Shirley enjoys spending time with her partner, Traci, and their Pomeranian, Kibo, swimming, traveling, and going on adventures together.
I am one of those fortunate people who truly love their job. I am excited to come to work every day because I know I have the ability to make a huge impact on the lives of the clients I serve. Over the years as a single parent, I learned so much about saving, investing, budgeting and planning. My knowledge and personal success in these areas caused friends and colleagues to reach out to me with questions about my approach. Even though I was in a different profession at the time, whenever a friend asked, I helped, and they all encouraged me to work with people on their financial goals full time. When I learned about Edward Jones and the firm’s approach to working with clients, I knew it was the right place for me.
